Introduction to various types of pipes and fittings

Introduction to various types of Pipes and Fittings :-

There are various types of pipes and fittings available for various uses. The pipes fittings are used for various types of connections in the plumbing system. We provide all types of pipes and fittings which will help you manage plumbing system in your house. These best plumbing pipes in India are available at reasonable rates. The following pipes and fittings are available with us.

Elbow pipe fittings

These types of pipes fittings are used to change the direction of water flow. These fittings are fitted between two pipes to change the direction of water flow. We have elbow pipes fittings of 22.5, 45, and 90 degrees. Normal elbows are used if the diameter of the pipes is same as that of elbow otherwise the fittings need to be cut. There are various materials with which these fittings are made and can be fitted into a pipe by welding.

Reducer pipe fittings

This pipe fitting is used to reduce the flowing size of water from larger to smaller and so is the name. We have two types of reducers. The concentric reducer which is a cone shaped reducer reduces the flow gradually but air may be accumulated. The eccentric  reducer has parallel edge to connect and so the air does not accumulate.

Tee type pipe fittings

This pipe fitting is in the shape of letter ‘T’. Water can go in through one inlet and go out through two outlets. Some t-shaped pipe fittings have two inlets and one outlet. We have got both types of this pipe fittings. These fittings are available in various shapes and sizes and made up of various materials.

Cross pipes fittings

In this pipe fitting, there are four directions and four openings. These are used to connect four pipes. This connection produces stress on the pipes because of change in temperature. The fitting is used in fire sprinkler system.

Coupling

The coupling is a fitting used to connect the pipes of the same diameter. This fitting is best for the place where the pipe is broken and leakage need to be controlled. The two types of couplings that we have are compression coupling and slip coupling. Compression coupling is used to prevent leakage as it is attached with the pipes through gaskets or rubber seals. Slip coupling can be installed easily in comparison to its counterpart.

Unions

The function of this pipe is similar to that of coupling with only a difference that coupling cannot be removed but union can be. There are male and female ended thread  along with nuts.

The Best UPVC Pipe Fittings Manufacturers Company in India at AKG Group

UPVC Pipe Fittings Manufacturers

AKG Group have UPVC Plumbing Systems, who provide products and services related to these pipes. UPVC Pipes are also known as rigid PVC pipes. These pipes are used for plumbing in residential and commercial buildings. The UPVC pipes are manufactured using the same materials used for PVC pipes. The PVC can be heated and then transformed into any shape and size. In order to make them more flexible, other materials are added to make it bendable and flexible.

Features of UPVC Pipes

The following features of the pipes make it useful for various purposes.

Hygienic

The pipes are very hygienic when transportation of water and other fluids is to be done. The pipes are
not easily attacked by bacteria or fungi and do not get contaminated. The pipe is very smooth from
inside so no taste, fuming, or odor develops in the water. Because of this, water can be easily
transported to cities and villages.

Chemical resistance

The UPVC pipes are not affected by acids, alkalis, chemicals and oils and that is the reason that they do not corrode easily. This is why the life of these pipes is longer in comparison to metallic pipes, which are corroded easily by these chemicals. Besides transporting clean water, the UPVC pipes can be used in sewage also.

Flexibility

The pipes cannot be reformatted easily due to the earth movements and so they are more useful for
installing pipelines. The metallic or cement pipes breaks or damaged due to extra pressure.

Density

The density of the pipes makes it much cheaper in comparison to the metallic pipes. The transportation and installation of the pipes is also cheap because of its density.

Fire resistance

This is a great feature of UPVC pipes. They are not combustible and even if there is a fire, the pipes are self-extinguishable and that is the reason that they are being installed in new buildings.

Applications of UPVC Pipes

The pipes have various types of applications, which are described here. The pipes can be used in water supply schemes and also for making hand pumps.

  •  Chemicals like chlorides can be transported through these pipes and so they are being used in

          industries.

  •  They are used to transport corrosive gases through ventilation pipes from bathrooms, kitchen,

           and other such places.

  •  Sewer systems can also be made through the pipes because of anti-corrosive properties of the

           pipe.

  •  The pipes are also being used in electrical industry as they can be used for electrical conduits.
  •  The pipes can be used as sprinklers in agricultural fields.
  •  The pipes are also used in crude oil lines, as they are not easily corroded.
  • It can be said that these pipes are more durable and reliable in comparison to metallic pipes and are being installed in the new buildings and residences.

Best Plastic Pipe Manufacturers Company in India at AKG Group India

Plastic Pipe Manufacturers

AKG is a company that provides all types of plastic pipes, which can be used for different plumbing tasks.

Then pipes we provide can be used for residents, drainage, and other water transport systems. Plastic
pipes are manufactured by using plastic and composite materials, which make it durable and flexible.
The pipes are light ion weight and so the installation is very easy. Plastic plumbing system was initiated

in 1930s and became popular between 1950 and 1960. The plumbers can install the pipes easily and not much labor is needed for the purpose. There are many advantages and disadvantages of these pipes, which have been discussed here.

Advantages of Plastic Pipes

The advantages of the plastic pipes have been discussed here.

Corrosion resistant

The plastic pipes are anti corrosive when they are exposed to water or chemicals. This why they are
used for plumbing in residential buildings in which they are used for water supply and drainage.

Low heat conductivity

Metals are good conductors of heat and so they become very hot in summer and cold in winter. This can result in breaking of the metal pipes due to expansion and contraction. Plastic pipes are bad conductors of heat and so they do not face this problem. These pipes are used in AC, boilers, and other such appliances.

Non-reactive

Installation of metallic pipes can cause corrosion as pipes and joints of different metals are used to
complete the installation. Plastic pipes can easily be connected without any reaction resulting in
corrosion.

Easy Installation

The lightweight of the pipe makes it is to install and plumbing installation can be done very easily. The cost of the installation is less, as only few labors are needed to do the installation.

Types of Plastic Pipes

There are many types of plastic pipes that can be used for various purposes.

Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX)

These pipes are installed and are a better alternative to copper pipes. The pipes are installed in houses
and commercial buildings to transport hot and cold water. The material used to make these pipes is
flexible, inexpensive, and its fitting is easy.

Poly Vinyl Chloride

PVC is available in white and grey colors and used for the transport hot water under high pressure. The pipe will bend if the temperature of the water is more than 140 degrees.

Chlorinated PVC

These are PVC pipes that are chlorinated and are more flexible than normal PVC pipes. The CPVC pipes are flexible and are good for water transportation whose pressure and temperature is high. The pipes are good for carrying drinking water. One disadvantage is that the pipe cannot be used underground.

High-density polyethylene

HDPE pipes are the one, which can be used for all types of plumbing. It is more durable and anti
corrosive than PVC and CPVC pipes.
