Low heat conductivity
Metals are good conductors of heat and so they become very hot in summer and cold in winter. This can result in breaking of the metal pipes due to expansion and contraction. Plastic pipes are bad conductors of heat and so they do not face this problem. These pipes are used in AC, boilers, and other such appliances.
Non-reactive
Installation of metallic pipes can cause corrosion as pipes and joints of different metals are used to
complete the installation. Plastic pipes can easily be connected without any reaction resulting in
corrosion.

The lightweight of the pipe makes it is to install and plumbing installation can be done very easily. The cost of the installation is less, as only few labors are needed to do the installation.
Types of Plastic Pipes
There are many types of plastic pipes that can be used for various purposes.
Cross-linked polyethylene (PEX)
These pipes are installed and are a better alternative to copper pipes. The pipes are installed in houses
and commercial buildings to transport hot and cold water. The material used to make these pipes is
flexible, inexpensive, and its fitting is easy.
Poly Vinyl Chloride
PVC is available in white and grey colors and used for the transport hot water under high pressure. The pipe will bend if the temperature of the water is more than 140 degrees.
Chlorinated PVC
These are PVC pipes that are chlorinated and are more flexible than normal PVC pipes. The CPVC pipes are flexible and are good for water transportation whose pressure and temperature is high. The pipes are good for carrying drinking water. One disadvantage is that the pipe cannot be used underground.
High-density polyethylene
HDPE pipes are the one, which can be used for all types of plumbing. It is more durable and anti
corrosive than PVC and CPVC pipes.
